breakout session overview
This presentation primarily targets an Enterprise’s business architecture and how this architecture impacts, constrains, supports and guides the work that a PMO will undertake. Business architecture will also help in determining the types of PMO’s which are needed and at what levels they will be needed in order to achieve Enterprise objectives.
As components of business architecture, this presentation will delve into four areas comprised of process, people, systems and data. People will investigate and reveal impacts, dependencies and nuances of how the PMO utilizes, places and distributes resources. This in turn demonstrates the value and efficiencies of the PMO to the Enterprise.
The process area will take a serious look of how a PMO aligns with the Enterprise process and how that alignment determines the types of PMO and their value to the process segment of the organization.
The systems area will be an analysis view of the different systems, not just tools, but the culture of ways of doing work and the impacts and dependencies the PMO has on the systems. If the PMO is misaligned, opportunity exist to miss goals and targets.
The data area will take a push and pull view of data, how it is constructed and utilized to achieve Enterprise goals. The benefit it provides the Enterprise and the PMO and the risks which may be encountered.
The audience will leave this segment with a better understanding of how the PMO fits into and utilizes business architecture to enable their Enterprise to achieve their goals.
