breakout session overview
Organizations support a large number of programs ranging from strategic development to software development. As these programs progress, they will require a linkage mechanism that ensures alignment between business strategy and direction, and the path to needed outcomes over the life of the program.
Governance is comprised of multiple dimensions:
people, structures, process and policies. Implementing
effective governance structures and set of governance functions will provide
the means to identify, assess, and respond to internal and external events
and changes by adjusting program components or features.
A governance model guided and controlled by the PMO will ensure:
The goals and objectives of the program are accomplished;
By implementing the governance model, the individuals who direct the program and those who oversee its work activities will be organized to ensure that authority and decision making has a clear source, the work of management and oversight is efficient, and the needs for direction and decisions are all addressed.
